Though John Andrew may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those John Andrew touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, L. Ardyce McKinney and Vernon D. "Beanie" McKinney; and his brother-in-law Ray Biltoft. He is survived by: his wife Ella M. Schmidt; his sons, Brett (Sheri) and Rick McKinney; his grandchildren, Taryn and Owen McKinney; and his siblings, Cheri Biltoft and Jim McKinney (Connie). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
He served on the Concordia University Foundation Board of Directors for 12 years, as well as the boards of Valley View Country Club, Seward Country Club, the Metal Building Dealers Association, and the Turtle Beach Lake Association.
