He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his sister Betty Lou Barnes; and his children, Steve Bird (Suzanne), Karen Tolman (Byon) and Jim Bird. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
