He is survived by: his wife Josie; his daughters, Kim Baptist (Bryan) and Kristen Desmond (Michael); his grandchildren, Terrie Desler (Kevin) and Richard Sanchez (Corrine); and his great grandchildren, Samuel, Gabriel, Marisa, Ethan and Anthony.
He was recognized for his contribution to coaching by his peers, having received Coast Conference Coach of the Year award in 1993.
