He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Leo and Madeline Kern; and his brothers, James and Lawrence Kern. He is survived by: his wife Judith Mohler Kern; his children, Diana Green (JD), Lisa (Jim Howard) and Brian Kern (Diona); and his stepchildren, Neil Gordon (Ann Hays), Teri Rye (Henry) and Suzi Torkzadeh (Alan). He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, and 20 Great grandchildren.
