She was predeceased by: her parents, Bert James and Margaret Gough Sanford; her husband John "Jack" Spencer; and her sister Leola Cordner. She is survived by: her sons, Douglas Jay and Kent D Spencer. She is also survived by four grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
