Melva left this world on April 29, 2025 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, George William and Alice Nelba Flanigan Thompson. She is survived by: her husband Glen Moroni Barney; her son Glen Craig Barney; her son-in-law Garry Lund; her grandsons, Jerod and Jesse Lund; her siblings, Darlene Anderson, Robert, Thomas, Wayne and John Thompson; her children, Glenda Lund, Brad, Lisa Barney, Lane and Kimberly Barney; her daughter-in-law Sue Barney of Salina; and her brother Clyde Thompson. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
