Cherie Marie Smith Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on April 15, 2026, at the age of 86, Cherie Marie Smith of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Cherie shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Cherie farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her husband David Jerome Smith; her brother Michael Murphy; and her daughter-in-law Diana Smith. She is survived by: her sons, Jay Smith (Connie) and David Smith (Mary); her sister Lise Reese; and her sister-in-law Judy Murphy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly welcomes memorial contributions to the University of Utah College of Nursing in support of the Cherie Smith Scholarship, established in her honor.
