He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Corrine Compton Kitchen, Dorothy Chavis and Joe "Donkey" Chavis; and his uncles, Russell Savage Sr. and David Kitchen.
He is survived by: his parents, Charles Chavis and Naomi Chavis; his wife Drew Chavis; and his children, Amelia, Caledon (Cubby), Christina, Mason and Joseph. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
