With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David Carl Mathot (Salt Lake City, Utah), born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 9, 2025 at the age of 57. He was predeceased by: his brother Jim Mathot; and his parents, William Mathot and Eileen Mathot. He is survived by: his sisters, Patti Sloot (Mike), Karen Mathot and Connie Buckner (John); and his sister-in-law Heather Mathot (Jim). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Vincent's Catholic Church (1375 Spring Ln, Holladay, UT 84117).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Special Olympics of Utah under Salt Lake Stars.
