It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Erwin Kay Watson of Salt Lake City, Utah, who passed away on April 3, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Castle James Watson and Thelma Fern Anderson; his siblings, Castle Ross, Glen, Merrit Galen, Thelma Nona, Milton Bennon, Maralyn Beverly and Max Brent; and his granddaughter Chelsea Nicole Ramos.

He is survived by: his wife Sharilyn Gladys Shurtleff; and his children, Melanie Berrett (Troy), Camille Paxton (Charles), Tiffanie Watson Weekes, Hollie Russell (Brigham), Aaron Watson (Haley), Brian Watson (Skye) and Heather Ishoy (Jonathan).

Some fond memories include Kay’s art projects, showcasing his wonderful talent; his walks to his home from the bus after a long day at work; the ward annual Valentine’s Day dances where he and Sherilyn were definitely the best ballroom dancers on the floor (before the Wiblins moved in); and not to forget his extreme love for the gospel and testimony, .Love, the Chadburns”
