With solemn reverence, we commemorate Hugh Sloan West Sr. of Salt Lake City, Utah, whose life came to an end on September 26, 2025 at the age of 101, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Ballantyne West and Ruth Sloan; his grandson William Ballantyne West, Jr.; and his siblings, Richard West (Jo), Robert West (Carol) and Susan West.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Gillison; and his children, Ruth Lowe (Steve), Hugh (Julia), Katie Strike (Tony), Emmy Burton (Richard), Will (Lisa), John (Jan) and Anna Pearce (James). He is also survived by 34 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:40 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Federal Heights Ward (1300 E Fairfax Rd, Salt Lake City, UT 84103).
