She was predeceased by: her husband Art; her parents, LaVella Matthews and Preston Matthews; and her sisters, LaWana Martin and LaVella Briggs.
She is survived by: her children, Ty Kiisel (Sue), Lory Van Valkenburg (John) and Janine Backus (Fred). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
