He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey E. McMillin and Marian Mortensen McMillin; his sister Joan M. Jensen; and his daughter-in-law Anne Ward McMillin. He is survived by: his wife Sue Maudsley. He is also survived by three sons, five daughters, eighteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM and at 10:45 AM at the Larkin Sunset Lawn (2350 E 1300 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84108). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 1:30 PM.

He returned home to his Father-In-Heaven after a long battle with Parkinson's, which limited his ability to get around in his later years.

“Sending prayers of comfort regarding the passing of Ron, a dear friend from East High School. He was best friends with my boyfriend, Rod Thayne, when both played on the EHS Football team. You have a beautiful family who, along with his wife Sue, took such good care of Ron as he suffered from Parkinsons. Hope to see you at the celebration of life for Ron next week.
