We announce the death of Wayne Timothy Smith (Salt Lake City, Utah), who passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 72. Wayne will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Wayne will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Wayne’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Smith and Vounes Smith (Black); his wife Carla J. Smith; and his siblings, Karen Smith, Dennis Smith and Mark J. Smith.
He is survived by: his son Klinton Smith (Mayumi); his grandchildren, Honoka and Haruto; his siblings, Linda Petersen (Tracy), David Smith and Kirk Smith (Sandy); and his sister-in-law Pam Smith (Mark). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT 84092).
