He was predeceased by: his parents, James Govostes and Ellen Govostes; his brother Raymond; his niece Dawn Martens (Jon); and his close friends, Michael Butler and Douglas Stevens.
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Govostes (Christianson); his daughters, Nicole Avila (Joaquin) and Jenna Govostes; his grandchildren, Leevi Avila, Avery Avila and Lila Avila; his sister Mary Chisholm (Dan); and his nieces, Danielle Titus (Dan), Deborah (Jim), Schmittou and April Kendzorski (Jeremy).
