He is survived by: his wife Cindy Herbst; and his children, Randy Herbst, Rick Herbst, Kristin Stierli (Brandon Vasquez), Chris Olsen (Katie), Shawn Olsen (Josh Einbinder), Nici Vogler (Roni) and Kira Sexton (Steve). He is also survived by grandchildren.
