He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard W. Smith and Dorothea Anderson Smith. He is survived by: his former spouse Cherrell L. Thomas; his spouse Sharyl Sly Barney (Sherry); his children, Doretta Smith (Bob), Wendy Crowther (Bill), Jill Forbes (Steven), Bryce Smith (Michelle) and Eric Smith (Jenifer); his stepchildren, Heidi Harrison, Laura Sorge (Larry), Jeff Barney and Julie Hays (Brian); his brother Scott; his sister-in-law Geniel Sly; his pet Reesey; his caregivers, Liz and Stephanie Gammel; and also, Heidi, April, Laura, Jeff and Julie. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (2080 E Pinecrest Ln, E 11530 S, Sandy, UT 84092). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
