She was predeceased by: her husband Carl H. Durney; her parents, Melroy Ole Nelson and Clarissa Nelson Benjamin; her siblings, Doris Bruno, Lynn Nelson, Dean Nelson and Norma Bond; her grandson Maxillian Nelson Curtis; and her great grandchild Amber Jennifer Heiner.
She is survived by: her siblings, Bruce Nelson (Ann) and Rhea Bearnson; and her children, Caladh Riese (Roland), Carolyn Ipson (Larry), Edward Durney (Noriko), Brian Durney (Kristy), Alan Durney (Lori) and Dyla Miller (Karl).
Her career was marked by compassion and purpose, particularly in her work with veterans, youth, and members of a Parkinson's support group.
