He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Averett and Dorothy Park Averett; and his siblings, Max Averett, Dean Averett and Maxiene Averett King.

He is survived by: his children, Spencer Tracy Averett, Jessica Lorrinne West and Riley Scott Allen Averett (Meaghan); his grandchildren, Arthur, Elizabeth and William; his children, Julianna Dawn Armstrong, Joleena Beth Armstrong, Richard Clark Armstrong, Travis LaMoine Averett and Tucker Edward Averett; and his siblings, Gloria Averett Healey and Ernie Averett.

Visitation was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Ephraim 2nd Ward Chapel (450 N 200 W, Ephraim, UT 84627). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT 84092.
