He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence Frank "Bud" and Valeen Anderson Holgate; his grandparents, Frank Leo, Leona Bell Holgate, Grant Sylvester and Lila Beth Watson Anderson; his aunts and uncles, Ken Walker, Stanley Stevenson, Howard Funk, Doug Holgate, Joann Walker, Gwen Funk, Nonalee Goodrich and MaryBeth Skyles; and his great-niece Luna Crump.
He is survived by: his daughters, Emma Valeen, Malia Laree and Macee Jamaia (Andrea Clark Holgate); his sisters, Gretchen Haskell (Darin) and Elizabeth Merritt (Bill); and his siblings' children, Jared Haskell, Steven Haskell (Kassi), Spencer Merritt, Kristen Crump (Nick) and Alexandra Merritt. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites loved ones to donate to the GoFund Me fundraiser that will go towards the benefit of Matt's daughters.
