He was predeceased by: his parents, Clester Wallace Hyer and Ercille Marie Larsen Hyer; his wife Kaye Mortensen; and his siblings, Wally, Ruel, David and Nedra.
He is survived by: his children, Todd (Joy), Troy (Pam), Shane (Shari), Jay (Trisha) and Tammy Mortensen (Dale). He is also survived by grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
