Ernest Dea Hagner Obituary

Ernest Dea Hagner passed away peacefully on November 8, 2021. Ernie was born May 30, 1928, in Wichita, Kansas, to Arthur and Clara Hagner. He enjoyed volunteering at the temples, spending most of his time at the Payson Mormon Temple and Spanish Fork Mormon Temple. He enjoyed reading and had a passion for wood working crafts.

A Korean War veteran, he served with honor in the Armed Services and was very passionate about his time in service. His careers consisted of building airplanes at Boeing and working on missiles at Lockheed. He also was a carpenter for a few years, and he was also a handy mechanic. Ernie is survived by his wife Jane, daughters, Coretta, Brenda, Kathy, son, Kenton, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

From Jane's side; three daughters Rebeccah, Racheal, and Ruth and five sons, Caleb, Joshua, Jacob, Luke, and Ephraim and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special thank you to Ann, the Hospice Nurse and the staff at the Payson Hospital for all the special loving care shown to Ernie and his family through this most trying time.

“My thoughts and prayers to the Family. Ernie was the only grandpa I knew, he loved his grandkids, Destinee and Dawson, and spent time with them eating macaroni and cheese and watermelon on the porch, at grandma Thelma Hagner's and his home. I'm just hearing of his passing. It saddens me that his wife, Thelma wasn't mentioned in the obituary. He was part of our family and we loved him dearly, the love he had for his bear, which he called grandma, was enduring. Fly high Ernie, with grandma.”
