He is survived by: his father John Israel Howard; his wife Afton; and his children, Charles Hilmer (Jessica), John Stanley (Amy), Jennie Reynolds (Keith), Jeffrey (Rachael), Matthew (Johanna), Jay (Pam) and Robert (McKenzie). He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
