He was predeceased by : his parents, Victor C. Ellis and Leona Walkington Ellis; his wife Kaye; and his siblings, Mark and Marie.

He is survived by : his children, Vicki Ottley (David) and Eric (Jana); his brother Brent (Kaye); and his sister-in-law Julie Richmond. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
