He is survived by: his wife Marcia; his children, Randall Carpenter, Douglas Carpenter (Kathia), Charlotte McDermott, Helen Richardson (Tim) and Gerald Carpenter (Michelle); and his brother Gerald Arthur Carpenter. He is also survived by family, which included 21 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
