He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Joseph and Virginia Louise Veliz (Rhodes); his stepparents, R. B. Collins and Georgie Sue Parsley; and his in-laws, Herbert and Almerta Ferdon (Felton).
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Jo Ferdon; his children, Robert Joseph Veliz III (Shasta) of Ogden, Utah and Kellie Jo Veliz of Sunset, Utah; his grandsons, William Joseph Veliz-Cox of Denton and Hunter Hill Veliz of Sunset, Utah; and his sisters, Sara Anne Bouchard of Chesapeake, Susan Moberg of Aurora and Linda Antill of Overton, Nevada. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
