Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Hope Diana Rena Simon of Taylorsville, Utah, who passed away at the age of 59, on October 29, 2025. She was predeceased by: her father Dennis Atherton; her sister Denise Moland; her great-niece Harper Sekavec; and her great-nephew Mathew Sekavec. She is survived by: her mother Caroline Atherton (Bowyer); her husband Scott Simon; her son Joshua Appel; her siblings, Ricky Atherton (Mia), Aaron Atherton, Marcy Albritton (Jon) and Sarah Atherton; and her brother-in-law Daniel Moland. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (3555 W 5620 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84129). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to help offset the medical and final expenses incurred during Hope's brave battle with cancer.
