He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Gerrard Tye; his parents, Lowell Tye (Betty) and Edna Christensen Tye; his son Lowell Tye; his great grandchild Cooper; his brother Ralph Tye; and his siblings-in-law, Belva Tye and Richard Donelson.
He is survived by: his children, Christine "Tina" Osborne (Brent), Barbara Wasik (Terry), Rodney Tye (Ann), Allison Trease, Cheryl Jones (Nathan) and Maryanne Tye; and his sister Kathleen Donelson. He is also survived by his 23 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.
