He was predeceased by : his wife Marjorie; his parents, Richard Young and Nana Madge Young; his brother Richard; and his great grandchild Liam Shields.

He is survived by : his daughters, Teresa Lamkin (Chris) and Debbie Cavaness (Mike); his grandchildren, Patric Shields (Katie), Collin Shields (Savannah), Madison Cavaness-Furlong (Ryan) and Kiefer Cavaness; his great grandchildren, Talan and Maxwell Shields; and his siblings, Timothy Young and Bonnie Roberts.
