Jim left this world on August 2, 2025 at the age of 82, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gerrit Ekker Sr. (Jack) and Florence Harrison Ekker; his wife Linda Lee Pehrson of Vernon; and his siblings, Leta Bartholomew, John Gerrit Ekker Jr. and Louise Schouten.
He is survived by: his children, Matthew John Ekker (Debbie) of Taylorsville, Utah, Michelle Adams (Tony) of Tooele, Utah, Mary Lou Ekker of Tooele, Utah, Melinda Johnson (Brady) of Vernon, Utah and Holly Christina Sorensen (Nate) of Payson, Utah. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Vernon Ward (280 Main St, Vernon, UT 84080).
