He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard A. Johnson and Alice McCarthy Johnson; his siblings, John Johnson, Edward Johnson (Ted), Bruce Johnson, Bertha McGee, Gordon Johnson and Anne Johnson Sellers; and his son-in-law Tiny Grover.
He is survived by: his wife Evalyn Ann Shurtleff of Vallejo; his children, Lori Nakayu Grover, Russell Todd Johnson, Jeffery Johnson (Jayna), Jana Johnson (Carl), Jill Butt (Michael), Jennifer Warner (Clark), Allison Andrew (Ryan) and Anjanette Berg (Ryann); and his sister Alice Gay Matheson. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
