It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Aleen Deon Barker (Vernal, Utah), who passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Oral Merkley and Arvid Merkley; her spouse Terry Barker; her children, Teralene Slaugh (Brian), Clark Barker (Linda), Rita Smith (Gene) and Leroy Alires; her siblings, Connie Cook (Ned), Lynne Merkley and RaVae; her in-laws, Bryce Barker (Carol-Jean), Monte Barker (LouAnn), Kay Atwood and Sue Cook (Reid); her close friend Terry; her siblings, Ray Merkley and Jean Hofeltz; her foster child Darrick Hale; her in-laws, Ken and Gladys Barker; and her siblings-in-law, Mac Atwood and Letha Barker. She was also cherished by 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM. A burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 12:45 PM at the Dry Fork Cemetery (6600 W Dry Fork Cemetery Rd, Vernal, UT 84078).
