She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Merrill Rasmussen and Vergie Ellen Blackburn; her husband Heber Rulon "Red" Schurz; and her sisters, Clythella Trujillo and Deon Harvey.
She is survived by: her children, Penny Dena Schurz Hutchinson (Shane), Jesse Lynn Schurz (Heather) and Tina LaDawn Edgar (Jason); and her sisters, Veon Harvey, LaWanna Goodrich and Lousie Bascom. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren.
