She was predeceased by: her parents, Lillian Young (Van) and Nelson J. Young Sr.; her husband Colin Eugene Harmston; and her grandson Cailean Scott Harnden. She is survived by: her children, Teri McElreath (Jim), James Tod Harnden and Troy Harmston (Kenna). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
