He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxine Pilcher and Hershl Pilcher; and his sister-in-law Sherry Pilcher. He is survived by: his wife Margaret; and his sons, Kevin of Vernal, UT, Brian (Faye), Salt and Eric.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Huntsman Cancer Research Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT, in the name of John "Moose" Michael Pilcher.

“Mike Pilcher, as our family knew him was a devoted father and husband, and a dear friend. His hearing impairment did not detract from his ability to communicate and notice the subtleties expressed by those with whom he interacted. I very good man was lost to us but hopes for his eternal bliss and reunion with his beloved parents in Heaven may bring us comfort.”
