He was predeceased by : his parents, Melvin Owen Schiffman and Gladys Allsop; his wife Carol Kinnear; his daughter Lorie; his daughter-in-law Leslie; and his grandson Matthew Schiffman.

He is survived by : his children, Mike, Curt (Cheryl), Matt (Laura), Christy Baird (Mark) and Carol Ann Ryan (Cameron).
