He was predeceased by: his parents, Eli Mitchell and Dixie Mitchell; and his wife Janice Mitchell. He is survived by: his children, Troy Wasserman (Alli) and Amanda Wasserman; his grandchildren, Talli Wasserman and Bryn Wasserman (Abie); his great grandchildren, Calvin and Kimberly; and his siblings, Jeffrey Mitchell (Elizabeth), John Mitchell (Judy) and Lurena Mitchell. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Bountiful City Cemetery (2224 S 200 W, Bountiful, UT 84010). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 67.
In lieu of flowers, Kirk's kids ask that you join them in the way they believe he would appreciate most: come share memories, raise a glass, and have a beer with them at the FOE 67 as they celebrate a simple man who loved his family and a life spent outdoors.
