He is survived by: his wife Jan Kiisel; his brothers, Rod Backus (Carrie), Jefferey and Kim Backus; his children, Angie Mattinson (Eric), Chad Backus (Martha) and Ryan Backus; his granddaughters, Erika (Christian), Caitlin, Brianna (Ethan), Evelyn, Penny and Phoebe; his great grandchild Rylan; his niece Kristin Bigney (Simeon); his nephew Rodney (Nathan Backus); and his great-nephews, Winston, Max Bigney and Brantley Backus.
