He was predeceased by: his parents, Noa Maugatai and Saini Utuoge; his wife Inna Schwalger Salea; his daughter Melissa Penina Salea; and his siblings, Vaipua Noa, Pu'epu'emai Melekeuli Pu'epu'emai, Kalama Pu'epu'emai, Fa'amanu Pu'epu'emai, Ioane Salea, Penina Salea Tuimaualuga and Tupu Salea.
He is survived by: his former wife Emma Laufou Salea; his children, Fred Frost (Shenna), Francis Frost (Veronica), Michael Sabir (Brielle), Seiki Filiaga (Elaine), Annisha Lealaitafea (Vaifoa Jr.), Ovini Salea (Bernadine), Heka Snuka (Jimmy), Lelei Salea and Sunshine Aumua; his siblings' children, Sarona Salea (Leni) and Salote Salea; and his siblings, Mau'u Ioapo Pu'epu'emai (Loto Vui) and Fa'afetai Schuster (Aleki). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.
