He was predeceased by: his parents, Nyle Orlando "Tex" Dailey II and Reva "Faye" Dailey; and his brothers, Ross Edward Dailey and Robert Michael "Mickey" Dailey. He is survived by: his children, Amanda Dailey-Hansen (Jeff) and Tanika Downward (Shad); his grandchildren, Baxter, Maxwell Hansen, Everly and Indie Downward; his former wife Joan Johnson; and his siblings, Butch (Connie), Scott (Jeanne), Steve (Heidi), Robyn Cherrington (Mark), Marty (Debbie) and Becky Harston (Richard). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
