He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Jesse and Evelyn G. Martin Shaeffer; his daughters, Lisa Dawn and Lori Carmen; his children-in-law, Karen Shaeffer and Bret Whetman; and his granddaughter Whitney McKay.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Shaeffer of Taylorsville; and his children, Bart Shaeffer of West Jordan and Christine Hansen (Amy) of Taylorsville. He is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
