He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Don and Lois Mcfarlane Smith; and his brothers, David and Tom. He is survived by: his wife Beth Ann; his children, Justin Smith (Katie), Jennifer Thorsted (Robert) and Jake Muir (Akemi); his brothers, Les (Sheryl) and Clint; and his siblings-in-law, Jeaneen Smith, Shelly James (Cindy Ranii) and James Summers (Joy). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rodger's name to Primary Children's Hospital.
