He was predeceased by: his parents, Hill Gentry and Doris Houck Gentry; and his brother Carl "Bud" Gentry. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Gentry; his children, Beverly Gentry Wright (Al) of Kingsport, TN and Lisa Gentry Greenway (Bryan) of Bristol, VA; his grandson Nelson Greenway; and his sister Jane Gentry Pierce (Zane) of Abingdon, VA.. He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bethany Cemetery Fund.
