He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Blaine Tate, Sr. and Kathleen McElyea Tate. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Dunn Tate; his daughter Ashley Tate; his granddaughters, Elli Tate and Madison Groseclose; and his son Will Dunn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
