He was predeceased by: his father Leon Salyer; and his brother Darrell Salyer. He is survived by: his children, Derek Salyer, Kaitlyn Shelton (Heath Shelton) and Ashleigh Salyer; his grandchild Leia Byrd; his mother Peggy Salyer; his siblings, Brenda Salyer-Head (Jeff Head), Dwight Salyer (Shelia Salyer), Daniel and Gary Salyer; and his sister-in-law Diane Salyer. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and their spouses; his adorable great-nieces and nephews; one uncle, three aunts, and several cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Frost Funeral Home (250 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210).
