He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Carpenter and Kay Phillips; and his father-in-law John Phillips. He is survived by: his wife Linda Edwards; his son Michael Edwards; his stepson Alex Rose; his son-in-law Robert Nickel; and his sisters, Kim and Anita. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Farris Cremation and Funeral Center (19415 Lee Hwy, Abingdon, VA 24210). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
