He was predeceased by: his parents, Ulysses Mains and Verna Mains; his son Edward Mains, Jr.; his sisters, Mary Ellen Mains and Mary Elizabeth Mains; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Calhoun, Barry Fortner and Banney Fortner.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Mains; his son Michael Mains of South Carolina; his siblings, Janice Massey of Oxford, PA, Helen Reid (Tom) and Paul Mains (Dawn) of West Grove, PA; his grandchildren, Jamie Mains and Bella Mains; his siblings-in-law, Bonnie Gwinn of Mountain City, Beverly Testerman of Galax, VA, William Towler of Fries, VA and Ricky Fortner of Elkton, MD; and his close friends, Lesa Pope and Arlie Hodge. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
