She was predeceased by: her parents, John Starnes and Eva Starnes of Honaker, Virginia; her husband Kirby Dillon Smith; and her siblings, Marie Steele, Helen Bartee, Ruth Slate, Kenneth Starnes and Russell Starnes.
She is survived by: her children, Garry Smith Abingdon (Dalisay), Sandy Moore, Brenda Hallock (Eddy), Terry Christian and Bryan Smith Powhatan (Jan); and her grandchildren, Seth Smith, Meishach Moore, Jes Moore, Jai Moore, Jeremy Hallock, Benjamin Hallock, Gabriel Hallock, Hannah Hallock Waneck, Lydia Smith, Logan Smith and Kirby Smith.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a Smith family international ministry, HOPE IN ACTION, that builds churches and orphanages.
