It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Jean Ratliff of Abingdon, Virginia, born in Clinchco, Virginia, who passed away on July 7, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Cook and Laura Vanover Cook; her husband Lawrence Franklin Ratliff; her children, Barbara Ann Ratliff Looney and Kenneth L. Ratliff; her siblings, Juanita Crouse, Mavis Randolph and Darrell Cook; and her grandchildren, Jennifer Reed, Mike Ferrell and Jason Looney.
She is survived by: her daughter Janice Ratliff Ferrell (Freddie) of Emory, Virginia; her brothers, Robert Dan Cook of Nashville, TN, Norman Cook of Bristol and David Cook (Peggy) of Piney Flats, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Sean Looney of Richmond, Traci Ferrell of Las Vegas and Ken Ratliff (Mandy) of Columbus, Ohio; and her great grandchildren, James and Nathan Ratliff. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
