He was predeceased by: his father William Paul; and his sisters, Janice Squires and Sylvia Purvis. He is survived by: his wife Betty W. Howard; his children, Kim Thomas (David) and Jonathan Howard; his grandsons, David "Austin" Thomas and Caleb Thomas; and his siblings, William T. "Bill" Howard, Edgar Howard, Nancy Mooring, Linda Jessee and Debra Parris. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
